Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation at the Open Track, taking place Wednesday, February 18th.
There are THREE different START AREAS when we host the Open Track - a more relaxed atmosphere, yet spanning the full distances of the American Birkebeiner, the Kortelopet or the Prince Haakon.  All events FINISH on Hayward's Main Street!  The cut-off time at the Finish is 5:00pm.

Volunteers are needed from Start to Finish and everywhere in between.  There are also Expo Set Up shifts located at the Hayward High School.   Please scroll down to the shift details below and select the checkbox beside the date/time.  Then scroll to the bottom to fill out your personal information.  Be sure to click the "Register to Volunteer" button, to submit your request.  You will receive regular messaging ahead of your scheduled shift.

All volunteers receive a 2026 Birkie Volunteer hat and pin as a thank you gift.  All volunteers receive a Volunteer bib to wear during your shift.  Volunteer bibs must be returned at the end of the shift.

Please let us know if you have questions about volunteering with the American Birkebeiner by emailing Jane Flygstad, Volunteer Coordinator: jane.Flygstad@birkie.com
